We would like to share our past / ongoing / planned activities in LCT
Indonesia:
- Conducting workshop
June 2020 (Prof Karl Maton)
February 2022 (Prof Yaegan John Doran)
March 2022 (Prof. Wang Zhenhua)
- Drafting a picture book introducing LCT (with Karl). The book is planned
for the teachers at primary school, junior high school and senior high
school.
- Developing a webpage of LCT Indonesia (
https://klf-indonesia.org/?page_id=61).
- Drafting Indonesian book translation of "Knowledge and Knowers"
The book is planned for the students at Pre-service Teacher Education.
- Designing research on using LCT:
"Semantic waves of the language in Indonesian court decree" (Case No.
348/Pid.B/2011/PN.GS). We take an ecocide case in Lampung Province which
has gone through three trials, namely the first level trial, the appeal
trial and the cassation trial.
"Semantic waves in Lampung ethnic oral literature." We take "Wawancan", one
of Lampung's oral literatures which is better known to the people of
Coastal Lampung. The delivery of Wawancan is done by reading a text with a
certain tone and is used during traditional events such as circumcision,
weddings, and the naming of noble titles.

Claire Simpson-Smith (The University of South Australia, Adelaide) is
giving a talk using LCT: ‘The importance of contextualisation: Combining
linguistic and sociological research for the development of engineering
students persuasive writing skills’ at HERDSA conference starting June 27
th (Maton’s birthday) in Melbourne, Australia.
We found that by accident … as we do some of the publications and talks
you are all doing, but many others don’t, we miss many and we’d love to
hear about what the community is doing.
