shows of those American Indian children, *less than half* are meeting
important milestones for successful adulthoods. These milestones include

tribal children in Oklahoma and the ways we can begin to further improve
outcomes for American Indian children. The question and answer session will
provide details about policy and programmatic needs as well as ways that we

on September 16-17 at Springlake Metro Tech in Oklahoma City. The
conference will feature dialogue and analyses of current programs,
practices and policies impacting Oklahoma's children and families.
Participants will attend interactive breakout sessions focused on topics
important to improving outcomes for children, including: early childhood
education and development, child maltreatment, teen pregnancy prevention
and the effects of mental health and substance abuse on children. Attendees
will explore the current state of child well-being, barriers to
improvement, and ways advocates can work together to address issues in
their communities. Attendees will also hear from state agency heads and
policymakers about the current fiscal, political and programmatic landscape
throughout the state.
