Subject: Family Support Accountability Act Update 4-13-15

Dear Home Visiting Stakeholder,

The Family Support Accountability Act continues to successfully move through
the legislative process. HB2157 (Rep. Echols and Sen. Griffin) has been heard
and passed in both the Senate Appropriations Sub-Committee and the full
Appropriations Committee. The vote in the full committee was 27 Ayes, 3 Nays.

Next step for this bill is to be heard on the full Senate floor. The deadline
for this round of bills to be heard is April 23rd, therefore we anticipate it
will be heard sometime in the next two weeks. If the bill passes the Senate, it
will be ready to be sent to the Governor for her approval.

At this time, we anticipate that HB2157 will be the legislation that will go to
the Governor, rather than SB697.

I’ve received some inquiries about Rep. McCullough’s bill, HB2166. I wanted to
let you all know that the language of the bill has changed and that it no
longer contains any reference to home visiting programs.

Thank you for your continued interest and support!
