- Comments: "Found foraging in deciduous trees. We identified it by: red
crown and nape distinctly separated by black plumage, red throat with a
black bib; it also appeared to have a white chin possibly indicating a
female; the wings were black with prominent white slashes, and it also had
a black back with two rows of white markings."

of whimbrel. Dark legs. Ruled out Sanderling because of size, behavior,
breast pattern. Heavily streaked upper breast, scalloped pattern on back.
Flew out to sea and headed north ."
