If you watch from the beginning... Senator King such just supported Mike
Rogers in a major push to change US doctrine on cyberwarfare. "They have
been attacking us... it is time to get off the defensive... we need
deterrence, which means we have to start playing on the offense (especially
towards Russia)." A few months ago, I saw Rogers on CNN advocate an
immediate attack to shut down all electricity in a major Russian city. (Was
it St. Petersburg? I forget. Maybe.)
There are problems in Russia, but there are real problems here with folks
who really want to start a war between US and Israel versus Russia and
Iran.
By the way, Rogers also dissolved the part of NSA (Information Assurance)
which worked with Red Hat to assure security of the power grid, an area I
was responsible for at NSF for a number of years (until my retirement in
2015). That too raises the risk of global war. This is serious stuff.
