Dear Friends,
The Ad Hoc Reopening Committee is interested in understanding who and how
many, *in the next few months,* would be strongly interested in worshiping
in-person at the Langley Hill Meeting-house. In answering these questions,
assume that *social distancing practices and other safety precautions are
in place* (see summary of safety plan/protocol below and attached). We need
to know how many of us are eager to return, because it will take some
effort to prepare the meeting house and do necessary cleanings.
We also want to understand if your interest in returning is influenced by
the *time of the week* of the worship *OR* the *use of video/audio
technology* like Zoom to connect those virtually gathered with those
in-person in the Meeting-room.

We realize that each individual in our community has different personal
factors to consider when deciding when (and whether) to return to in-person
Meeting-house worship. The Ad Hoc Reopening Committee is focused on the
next few months to better understand how quickly we need to reach unity on
our schedule for reopening, implementation of safety-measures, and types of
worship we embrace. Thank you for responding by September 10th if possible.
*Key Aspects of the proposed safety protocols to use the Langley Hill
Meeting House*[1] <#m_352416503985920861_m_-2226900458958869346__ftn1>
*(September 2020)*
*Postings at doors*: One Sign to: wear masks, keep 6-foot social
distancing, and do not enter if any symptoms or known Covid
illness/exposure within three week. Second Sign with a disclaimer about
Meeting’s responsibility for sequent Covid illness.
*Disinfecting* surfaces prior to gathering (more cleaning if more frequent
use), if just weekly use of meeting house then clean/disinfect once on
Saturday. Key surfaces are: door handles, bathroom and benches. Bibles and
cushions may be removed or not for use.
*In meeting room*, arrange benches and chairs in advance with clear
markings to show designated seating locations adjusting for family units
that can sit together; keep two fans running and windows open for enhanced
air flow during worship as weather permits.
*Entry procedure *one person or family at a time into the foyer with
greeter ensuring 6 foot distancing, mask use, asking about any symptoms or
recent Covid illness/contacts, and seating and exiting procedures. Door
will be opened by greeter with gloves or left open). Attenders should use
hand sanitizer in foyer before entering meeting-room with their coats.
*Bathroom* access monitoring must ensure one at a time use with posted
instructions to wash hands for 20 seconds and use hand sanitizer.
*During worship*, masks remain on, vocal messages are welcome but no
singing. Riser will announce end of worship without any physical contact
and when its time to leave direct people to leave by the nearest door with
closest first followed orderly by others. If microphones are used and
passed around, the need to be disinfected between uses.
To reduce cleaning burdens in the near term, no* other uses of Meeting-
house*, the downstairs or upstairs spaces, no renters or other users during
the week, and no committee meetings in the Meeting-house. Anyone coming to
the meeting house outside of worship time will fill out a sign-in sheet so
we know who has entered and be instructed to wear a mask and use hand
sanitizer.
****Everyone present is empowered and responsible for following and making
sure others also follow these safety procedures.
