Chris, Thank you for the note and offer to help. But I have to tell you some sad news: no event this Saturday. It is MARCH 11th. More details will come later. Have a great weekend, Todd -------------- Original message -------------- From: "Chris Ohlweiler" <ohlweiler@xxxxxxx> Todd, Nick will be there on Saturday; BJ will be @ school as well with the garden club . After the shortened Landsailing event last Saturday, Nick & I went to a summer camp fair where we met Morgan Collins @ the Sand Point Sailing booth. I'd initially forgotten the connection between STS & SPS. Nick is definitely interested in taking some sailing lessons with them late this spring or summer. {Nick was disappointed that he was underweight for some of the boats; he considered bulking up by eating fast food for the next few weeks, but Morgan persuaded him not too} If we can help you set something up @ the Museum of Flight, let me know. Nick has gone to summer camp there for the past few years & we have helped them at some of the recent summer camp fairs (eg last weekend & tonight @ Bush school). I'd be glad to contact Eric Oost (ACE Camp Coordinator) & see if he can help set something up. Power was lost at Whitman after only about 10 minutes of Open Sailing due to wind speeds of up to 50 knots in the area. It was a bummer to all of us who were there. But that?s sailing! Sailors have long learned to be patient with the wind and enjoy it when it happens by. Saturday showed us that even with a gym full of fans, we can be at the mercy of the weather outside. Our next event is scheduled for Saturday, March 11th at Whitman Middle School. We are negotiating with the Museum of Flight to hold an event there in the coming months. It would be a great place to take our boats, see the Museum of Flight, and learn about a flight/sailing related topic. I?ll keep you informed. It might be a good idea to build a storm sail if you would like to sail in strong winds (over 15-18 knots). Let me know if you would like some dimensions to work from.
