Perhaps we can put one car under their nice pavilion cover and use a couple of
tents to cover one other EV? I am trying to contact Tim Gangaware about the
tents right now.

Subject: [knoxev] Re: Props for DEED batteries and charging session
Markus, et al,
Susan's at work, so I'm answering for her. As Jonathan noted, we will be there
rain or shine. We plan to have a Covid checkin tent, a tent over the KEVA
information table, and a tent for the presentations, so there will be some
shelter from the rain. There's also the pavilion that provides shelter. In
the event of lightning or severe weather, we will have everyone move into the
Ijams visitor center.
We were unable to schedule a rain date, so we're going to do the best we can.
For those of you whose cars are included in the primary display (Mark Bishop,
Gary Bulmer, Bill Williams, David Hrivnak, Jack Lail, David Mason, Gary
Mayfield, Jeff Shofner, Kevin Hart, Marty Young, Stephen Mounger, Markus
Iturriaga, and Ken Wilson), please let Susan know if you need to withdraw so
she can adjust spacing for the vehicles that will be there. If you're part of
that group, please arrive by 9:00 am. Other volunteers should arrive by 9:30.
Thanks,
Jack Goodwin

At this point the forecast calls for an 80% chance of rain. Are we having this
event rain or shine? I assume if it is a thunderstorm we would call it off...

Will, i must say that I am concerned about the weather.
I can bring my portable 14-50 Level 2 charger, if we're not rained out.
Those blue cells I gave you are 18650, which is the older style of cells that
Tesla uses.

Does anyone who is attending the DEED event at Ijams this Saturday have a
portable level 2 charger that they could bring just so I can show it during the
"Batteries and Charging" session.
Along the same lines, I'm assuming someone with a Tesla in the event can allow
me to borrow their charging adapters, again just for show and tell.
Also, if anyone has a sample of the single cells tesla uses, that would be neat
to show. I can print out pictures, but having the real thing there is always
better.
Other suggestions are also welcome. I'm prepared to talk in general about
miles/kW, comparison to gas costs, charging rates and costs, home charging,
public charging, etc.
