Subject: FW: HMGP-Post Fire for FY17 and 18 FAQs announced
Importance: High
All,
I wanted to share with you the FAQs for the HMGP Post Fire Funding opportunity
that will be formally announced very soon. See attached, and please note the
highlighted areas of the document. The application process HAS NOT opened yet
(See Q2 of FAQ). This is a heads up. In addition, the application period will
only be six months (See Q2 of FAQ), so start thinking about wildfire risk
reduction, ESPECIALLY if you are one of the impacted counties (See Q4 of FAQ).
Those who won't be able to participate (depends on whether or not a county can
spend the money; see Q4 of FAQ) can always submit applications for wildfire
risk reduction through PDM, or potentially, other HMGP opportunities. FMAGs
for 2017 were:

COUNTY
Incident Period: August 04, 2017
Fire Management Assistance Declaration declared on August 04, 2017
Sometime this month, FEMA Region 10 will send out a notification letter
formally opening the application period. In addition, FEMA Headquarters will
be offering webinars. I will keep you posted as I know more. Until that time,
I know what you know. Use the FAQs. And, I politely ask that you hold your
questions until I get the formal notification on this funding opportunity. I
will start with the declared counties first, then move out from there.
FMAGs for 2018 depend on the fire season.
Sincerely,
Angie Lane
