1. was there a rift between Terry and John?

Not necessarily. At one point or another the band were all upset at one
another over various things. Terry and Dee tended to work at night on
Dee's songs and overdubbing parts onto John's songs. John tended to
work during the day on his own songs and overdubbing onto Dee's songs.

There was an overall falling out around the time of Sir Army Suit's
recording because of financial problems that the band felt may have been
contributed to by Terry Brown and also because of Terry Draper generally
being too chemically under the weather to drum in the studio. Some
recordings were made with a different drummer and were unsatisfactory.
Terry wiped those parts and overdubbed his drums onto the tracks (no
easy feat for most drummers to overdub onto an existing recording) and
those were the versions that got released.

2. are there still plans to release a DVD with "happy new year planet
earth", the "routine day" video, live TV clips and Klaatu-Kon?

Yes and No. It depends on financing. At this time the financing has
dried up. The original DVD was not going to include Happy New Year
Planet Earth. However, the band have changed the scope of the DVD so
many times that the backer decided he was wasting his money and has left
the project without further funding.

3. having never heard them, do the Whitemail and Mudcow songs sound
anything like Klaatu? also is there any way to obtain copies of these?

They sound like the early Klaatu b-side, "For You Girl" which sounds
NOTHING like the cover of that song on the Klaatu tribute.

Copies of the Whitemail single have shown up in the past year on ebay.
Mudcow, I don't think was ever commercially available. I could be wrong.

4. how can i get copies of the Klaatu fan tribute recordings?

It's available in it's entirety on the website. I've got to look around,
though, to find the link.

5. does Terry have a website or fan club address?

Unknown by me at this time.

6. i have heard that "Sail On" By Tom Cochrane has Klaatu as the backing
band. is this true and if so where can i find a copy of this single?

I've seen copies of this single on ebay. And yes, Klaatu are the backing
band. Dee, Terry, and Tom Cochrane himself all remember all three
members of Klaatu being on that recording. John, however, does not
recall this.

7. why was the song "Woman" not included on any of the Klaatu rarities
compilations?

The band felt it didn't belong there. It wasn't written by them. They
don't like the recording. They don't like the song. They don't like the
production. They don't like the circumstances under which it was
recorded. They generally want to ignore the existance of this song.

8. which 2-fer CD label of "Sir Army Suit/Endangered Species" has the
flanged fade version of "Tokymor Field"?

First off, the "flanged fade" is how the song appeared on the original
LP. That is the version you will hear on the Bullseye Records reissue
of Sir Army Suit. When Attic records (pre-Bullseye) was releasing Sir
Army Suit, Terry Draper accidentally gave them an early mix without the
flanged vocals on the fade. So the Attic records 2-fer CD does NOT have
the flanged vocal. The proper reissue from Bullseye does have it.

I believe the BGO records release had the flanged vocal as well, and
that is a 2-fer with Sir Army Suit, however the quality is not quite as
good as the Bullseye release and you don't get the fantastic liner notes
from the Bullseye release. Instead you get some horrible crap about the
Beatles rumor.

9. is Dee working on any new projects?

Check out deelong.com to see what Dee is up to these days.
