For one the cards have 100mW power output, so you can transmit packets 
from far greater distances then your airport and MOST prism2 cards 
without needing to amplify the signal from an external source.  A great 
number of prism2 cards I have seen are between 30-50mW (my SMC is 50mW) 
and I've seen one as high as 80mW... but the higher power output is a 
strong advantage when packing minimal gear on your scavenger hunt ;)
