Dear Kindersite subscriber

Welcome back to the new academic year. I trust all your plans and hopes for
the new year will succeed and the Kindersite can play a part in those plans.

I have received very exciting news during the summer. The Kindersite team
have been selected to be partners in SIX European Union Socrates Projects
for the Directorate General Education and Culture in Brussels, Belgium. More
information about these projects can be found on the Kindersite and I will
be updating the available information during the course of these 2 and 3
year projects.

Although these projects are initially targeted at European educators many of
the resources and products that will be produced can be valuable to schools
and parents anywhere in the world.

Gaining these projects will also be critical to the survival and growth of
the Kindersite, soon I plan to upgrade the technology of the Kindersite to
enable it to run more smoothly.

The Kindersite has grown, yet again. The latest count shows that 13,659
schools, authorities and universities in 148 countries have now registered
on the Kindersite. This number does not include multiple registrations from
more than one teacher or parent within the same school. It also does not
include homeschoolers (they are listed separately), parents, associations
etc. This is a 40% growth since the same period last year. Thank you to all
of you that helped with this growth.

I will be adding some more content soon and any suggestions you have are
very welcome, please write to me using my email address below.

I would like to remind you about the Kindersite Discussion Listserv that is
available for moderated discussions about any of the educational aspects of
the Kindersite. ( http://www.kindersite.org/list.htm ).

I will be addressing the European Union DissMark Conference in Iasi, Romania
(12th to 13th October) and I would be very happy to meet local educators
there.

Finally, as always, can I ask you to add a link to the Kindersite on your
websites, if appropriate.

Thank you and enjoy the Kindersite.
