Subject: [kent-equality] From LGA Daily News - The curse of cashless parking

Hello all,
For information:
The curse of cashless parking
Columnist Tom Rawstorne said the roll-out of cashless parking by councils is
leading to “total chaos, unjust fines and sky-high blood pressures”. He said:
“What is motivating these changes is a desire to save money – meters needed
maintaining and emptying of cash. But what of the convenience for the driver?”

Any decision anywhere in the county to introduce parking payments by smartphone
and especially to rip out cash machines need to be taken after robust equality
analysis.

Best regards,
Clive
