Welcome to the July Supporter Update from the Campaign to End Loneliness
Loneliness is a deeply personal experience, which makes addressing the issue
particularly complex for commissioners and service providers.
So the Campaign to End Loneliness has published a brand new resource to provide
adult social care, clinical commissioning groups, and public health teams
guidance on addressing loneliness in older age.
This new online guidance:
* Sets out the full range of interventions needed across a community
* Proposes a strategic approach, to ensure these interventions are
successful
* Suggests how to use national policy and evaluation to improve a local
response

Creating connections between the UK and Sri Lanka: Halpage Gunetilleke – a
supporter from Sri Lanka – is starting a new Skype project to match older
people in the UK who like to chat with students in Sri Lanka who would like to
improve their English. Halpage would like to hear from any organisations
supporting older people who would be interested in pairing up with his schools.

The Older People in the Media Awards are open for nominations. This year, the
awards will be held exclusively online. Independent Age is running the award in
collaboration with
