Any ideas why W98 gets stuck at "Windows 98" banner screen during boot process
after a download?
I was on the phone talking my brother through downloading a McAfee anti-virus
update. The download when fine. Since I wasn't sure if the machine needed
rebooting to activate the download, I had him restart the computer...and the
boot process stops at the Windows 98 banner screen.
I had him boot to safe mode and run the AV and it didn't find anything.
Running scandisk (thorough) as I write this. Not sure if these are necessary,
but had to try something.
