Subject: Hilton Pond 04/08/04 (Carolina Jessamine)

One of the true harbingers of spring at Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont
Natural History is the Carolina Jessamine, South Carolina's state
flower. Each April, this native vine delights the senses with its
brilliant yellow flowers and indescribable scent.

For a photo essay about Carolina Jessamine--and a warning about dangers
it can bring--please visit "This Week at Hilton Pond" for 8-14 April
2004 at <<http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek040408.html>>

Included, as always, is a list of all birds captured during the
period--including our first rush of new and previously banded
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. There's also a mug shot of a male American
Goldfinch that isn't quite in full breeding plumage.

Please forward this message to friends who appreciate birds and
nature, and tell them they can get a free reminder for "This Week
at Hilton Pond" by sending a blank E-mail to
