In response to developing informational needs, we are adding sites
related to SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). The sites below,
and  several more on this topic, will also appear in New This Week.  

We would also like to remind our readers about our excellent tax
collection which is on our Web site at . We offer
resources related to electronic filing, tax forms, publications, state
and federal resources, tax charts and calculators, and volunteer tax

You might think it would be difficult to find anything humorous about

Search Site(s) for Volunteer Income Tax
 Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the
 Elderly (TCE)
   A search site for locations in California which have Internal
   Revenue Service (IRS) and Franchise Tax Board-trained
   volunteers who will prepare basic income tax returns for
   low to moderate income taxpayers free of charge. The
   volunteers are either from VITA, which assists taxpayers
   regardless of age, or from TCE, which devotes special
   attention to taxpayers sixty years of age or older.

 The 2003 Earned Income Tax Credit Outreach Kit
   This site features information on the 2003 Earned Income
   Credit Campaign, a national effort to help low-income
   working families and individuals claim tax credits for which
   they qualify. Interested organizations may order one free
   copy of the kit, which includes outreach strategy ideas
   such as posters, flyers, envelope stuffers, and required tax
   forms. The site is available in English and Spanish, and
   portions of the kit have been translated into more than 18
   different languages.
