**  Snake Ancestors Lost Limbs on Land
Since the 19th century naturalists have debated whether the ancestors to
modern snakes lost their limbs at sea or on land

Scientists say they have discovered the world's oldest known insect fossil -
a 400-million-year-old set of jaws lying unrecognised for nearly a century
in a lonely drawer in the Natural History Museum in London

Larry Witmer, a palaeontologist at Ohio University in Athens, and his
colleagues examined two unusually intact pterosaur skulls, one from
crow-size Rhamphorhynchus, the other from the eagle-size Anhanguera

try to climb on a fossilized dinosaur femur and then run out of the room to
see a three-story display of dinosaurs and running water

The day spent at the Mygarr-Moore Quarry begins with a hike on the "Trail
Through Time," an area of the quarry that appears to be an ancient watering

dinosaur skeletons
