Welcome.

There is a revolution coming, and it's called Weed.

Weed is the solution to the thrashing of the dinosaurs of the music
industry becoming extinct. They can rest now. They've been in a lot
of pain, and unfortunately have passed that pain along to each of
their customers they forgot they served.

At the beginning of the last century, there was a revolution called
the horseless carriage; the auto-mobile. The horseless carriage no
longer obligated you to scoop horse shit and buy hay. The horseless
carriage freed the proud and beautiful horses from subjugation, from
cruel bits and bridles guided by force. Today, the Artist is in the
role of the horse, and the purely self serving commercial labels and
performing rights societies have become the punitive and cruel
bondage gear of the bridle...

Weed frees the Artist to be an Artist, and provides a partnership
between the Artist and their true friends and supporters -- the Fans.

The buggy whip manufacturers, when threatened by the horseless
carriage, went on a rampage to try to stop this threat to their
livelihood. In essence, they used the tools they were used to - the
whip - to try to stop the inevitable rise of efficiency that would
obsolete them. We have seen this pattern repeat in the last few
years... The first incarnation of the horseless carriage of today was
called Napster. Napster provided the long awaited "celestial
jukebox", where Fans and Artists were one in the music. Napster
provoked an allergic reaction in the music industry.

Weed removes the artificial barriers imposed by the mistake of
selling cages for music rather than the music itself. In the last
fifty years, the music industry mistakenly believed that when they
sold 10,000 records, they sold 10,000 units of music. They actually
sold the cages for music - music being locked firmly in the grooves
of vinyl, in the pits of cds... A fine one to one relationship. Sure,
there was the "home taping is killing music" initiatives railing
against the cassette -- history points out home taping was one of the
best things to happen to the music industry. But in the mid 90's, as
digital technology evolved, the music started escaping from the
cages. Seemingly overnight the internet was awash in "free" music,
galloping and frolicking around the internet, bringing the joys of
relationships with music to the lovers of music and the fans of the
Artist.

The music industry, fat and gobbled up by extremely big business, saw
this increasing disconnect between their artificially imposed cages
and music free to roam. Suddenly, instead of finding a way to align
with their opponent and turn, they began a well financed direct
attack on the customer. These attacks were financed out of the
earnings of the Artist that created the music in the first place.
These attacks will ultimately fail. There is a revolution coming, and
it's called Weed.

Online music buying today takes a song you buy and kills it. It is of
no further use to the world. The machinery of control gets paid, and
you are threatened with harsh penalties if you even attempt to share
what you have received with those that share your love, the other
Fans.

Weed solves this problem. A Weed file is an inspired living thing.
When you buy a Weed file, you are investing in The Artist, The Song,
and Yourself. You are encouraged to share what you have found. This
desire to share comes from our highest nature, and the last thing
this world needs is an authoritarian squashing of our highest nature.
Weed is about sharing your relationship with the music, and sharing
the artists relationship with music.
