[juneau-lug] Re: xandros install

Hi,

insmod by itself does not load the pre-requisites for ethernet, most
likely you already have 8390.o and isa-pnp.o loaded on your Knoppix
system.

Try doing the following before loading the ne driver.

insmod 8390
insmod isa-pnp
(not necessarily in that order)
then insmod ne

This my guess at this point, also is that a old PCI NE2000, or a ISA NE2000?
if I remember right if it doesn't auto-detect you have to do a insmod ne
io=0x340 irq=5 (or whatever your NIC is set too)...
