Based on your request I went out and did a little research, they pop
up a captive portal system which you can purchase a username and
password and use anywhere they are located.

I also ran around a little today and filled out some of the available
public (i.e. published not just open by accident ) connections. So
the list got updated:

hopefully it'll give you a little more info on whats out there.. the
list definitely is NOT complete but it is probably (atm) the most
complete publicly available hotspot list out there... mostly centric
for downtown area as that is what is in walking distance for me.
