James,

Fedora doesn't include licensed software. Xmms won't play mp3's, xine won't 
play commercial dvd's and the accelerated nVidia driver isn't included. The 
packages needed to make them work are available through the Extras 
repositories, though. I use Yumex/yum to install the missing files and keep my 
system up to date. 

The release cycle has been about 9 months, but I just read that they were going 
to drop back to 6 mos., which is a bit of a pain, since there always are a few 
issues with Fedora releases. I haven't seen anything major, but it still is a 
pain when they pop up. 

I have been with Red Hat/Fedora since Dec. 1999. Would be hard for me to 
change....
