Sean,

You should be able to get the codecs you need here:  
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design6/dload.html

I'm running SuSE 8.2 Pro and I noticed that it lacks certain features 
due to potential copyright violations.  Maybe the Red Hat distro does 
the same thing?
