Sounds like you've got a CD set on the way. I would have volunteered,
but my most recent Debian is 3.0 r2. You'd have to download the updates,
and that's pretty slow even from here! I've been running SuSE 9 myself

Glad you met Chris. I don't know him well, but I was one of the top
candidates to take over his job at the City. Unfortunately, they didn't
have any tech folks at the interviews, and ended up hiring a pretty
flakey guy and he's already gone. I think Chris would be a bit
disappointed to hear that their in a world of hurt right now...
