Actually, i've heard that firewire (ieee1394), will support multiple 
computers accessing the same device.  Perhaps you could check it out 
and let me know, I have only one firewire device and only one computer 
and cable, so I'm not able to check myself.

Might be the best way to give high speed access to the same drive.
