I was doing a little more looking, and I guess what is happening is that the 
hotplug service (automounter!) gets into an endless loop trying to mount the 
Cruzer.  This was resolved later on.  The messages I read were kind of vague 
about the kernel version though, aside from having a 2.4 kernel.  Problems on 
RedHat(Fedora)/Mandrake/SuSE.

My FC2 test2 machine is using 2.6.5, not a 2.4 kernel.  What kernel are you 
running on your FC1 box?
