Webmin makes sendmail a breeze.
www.webmin.com
Haven't even needed to crack open my sendmail book.
Webmin let's you configure every server and all
hardware aspects of the box remotely via a browser.

SpamAssassin and other sendmail addins may require
some unix skills though.

I just ran RH up2date.
It automagically patched sendmail to take care of
the latest exploit mentioned earlier on the list.
It couldn't have been easier.

Your mileage may vary depending on the
linux distro used. I've found RH 7.3 and
webmin to be an absolutely invaluable
combination.
