There may also be a lot >of work but my opinion (completely a feeling, and with no hard >evidence at all) is that another system would be better. After looking at it, I'm not anxious to adopt it (but not loathe to either). Some of the spam filtering tools I'm looking at require it though (MIMEDefang in particular - not sure if MailScanner & spamassassin do, I think they're more flexible). Haven't made a decision yet as to what I'll actually go with, but I'm leaving the option open. There's a lot of options with it, but I think that most will be defaults, and I'll have some initial help w/the others. After that, I probably won't have to touch it much. At least not directly. It may be more hassle than it's worth to upgrade sendmail, but I'll probably give it a try or two just for the experience. Since I found where to change the sendmail user I don't need to worry about adding a new one. If there are more issues than that I'll just use the already installed version. Might not be the most up to date, but on the other hand I'll take it on faith that the SuSE team has posted any pertantent known security holes/bug fixes. Be interesting to see other mailers though. Wouldn't mind looking at qmail one of these days. I may have other uses for it... ...Kevin ------------------- Kevin Miller CBJ MIS Dept.
