Hi, James,

1) Social meetings are good. So are presentations. I'd be happy to
introduce either the R programming language (cran.r-project.org) or the
Maxima computer algebra project (maxima.sourceforge.net), at the next
meeting I can make. Either intro could probably run 15 to 30 minutes.

Juan Rivero might be interested in either. Are you reading, Juan?
We've missed you at the meetings.

On the subject of ``meetings I can make'', Wednesday evenings and
Sundays are right out. Most other week evenings and Saturdays are ok.

2) I often ask (os-related) questions here, and sometimes on one of the
Debian lists.

2a) I answer technical questions on the R-help mailing list sometimes,
and on the spss users list.

3) Local communication; it's not quite the same as a long distance list.

4-6a) No comment for now.
