I can't speak for the rest of the group, especially since this is my 
first post and haven't been to the meeting and don't even live in 
Juneau, but I don't see why not.

But, there is already an Alaska Perl Mongers group, with a mailing list 
and everything (though the mailing list isn't very active), at:
