We need to set up the April meeting anyway. One of the AK-Lug'ers has
gotten a note from Murkowski's office saying he (Murkowski) won't have a
position on the bill for a couple of weeks. It seems as if this one
slipped under the radar screen of a lot of politicians. Now we know they
don't read /. much...

Anyway, as we are not an "official" organization, a letter from the LUG
would essentially be the same thing as a letter signed by multiple people.
I'm not sure if that would be more effective or less effective than a
letter from each of us individually.

However I think Toby is talking about an editorial piece for the Empire
and/or Daily News. That is a really good idea, and Toby is right - we'd
have to make sure all of our p's and q's are in place if we do that.

We've got some time to think about things and see how much attention the
bill attracts in the Senate. In the mean time, I'll start looking for
decent web links to place on the web page. I think the AK-LUG people in
Anchorage are also going to cover the Daily News, so we should coordinate
with them a little bit.

Note: I will post any link to the mailing list first, and give everyone a
chance to look at it & comment before I put it up on the page. If people
feel that it's not appropriate I won't put it up. (Remember, you can make
comments & suggestions about the web page at any time.)
