[juneau-lug] OpenOffice.org 1.0

OK, I have OpenOffice.org 1.0 CD's available for whoever wants them &
doesn't want to download. The CD includes:

Win32 binary install (Win95 + higher)
Linux binary install (every Linux machine I've tried it on)
Source code (for everything else.)

The CD's are kind of crude now, with the files as they are downloaded from
OpenOffice.org. (In fact, I burnt the CD on an OpenBSD box that doesn't
support Joliet CD's, so Windows machines don't even see the right file
names.) Over the weekend I'll unzip everything and set up the CD so it will
autoplay the Windows installer on a Windows box, etc.

OpenOffice.org 1.0 is pretty good. The installer does not automatically
take over all Microsoft Office file types on a Windows machine any more, the
spell check works, printing works, and all in all it is a good office suite
for general office stuff. It still has problems with very complex Microsoft
Office documents that rely on VBA - no getting around that probably, and
still does not include a database (use *sql for that).

Let me know if you want one & I'll burn it for you.

Cheers,

James
