I would have called it spam if it was going to cost us something (other 
than being added to some Novell marketing list).

In this case, all it's likely to cost is a little extra junk e-mail.  I 
can deal with that, given what we're getting.

I guess Novell wants us to "wet our whistles" on their product line, so 
we start becoming paying customers.

Microsoft is trying something like that right now with the city of 
Paris, offering them around 60% discounts on software licensing for the 
next 3 years to disuade them from migrating to Linux (like the Bavarians 
did in the city of Munich on approximately 14,000 systems).

Oh well, even if I see this as the marketing gimmick it is, I still 
signed up for my free copies.
