Tony and James, thanks for the help with the NCD.  An xterm was exactly 
what I was looking for, so it doesn't really matter what OS it runs.

I probably won't try to do anything with it until after I've gotten that 
old Mac going, so it may be a few weeks before I take you up on your 
offer, Tony.
