If you're a consultant you could print your business card on top, and 
put promotional material or sample on the CD, and distribute it in a 
clear plastic case.

You could duct tape several thousand to the outside of your car, shiny 
side out.

use an RW version for moving important files like homework around, as 
opposed to a floppy. Many of the Lab machines @ uas have cd burners in 
them now...
