[juneau-lug] Mini-CD's

Was at Fred's today & saw a little 5 pack of 8cm mini-CDs. You can put
210MB of data on these, and I have several 170MB network install CD
images, so thought I would give them a try.

Burning with a Yamaha 6416 burner, everything went fine in burning a CD.
When I tried to mount the CD though, I got a 'wrong FS or bad superblock'
error. The CD package says that they may not work with burners at less
than 8x speed, and since a 6416 burns at 6x speed I thought that might be
the problem. Then I tested it with another reader, and it came up just
fine. Tried a few more CD's, and each one could read the mini-CD
(including a couple of state surplus drives made in '94).

So this is the first time I've seen a burner that could write a CD
correctly, but then not read it. Went to Amazon & a Yamaha CRW-F1ZS is on
the way. I'll relegate the 6416 to an external SCSI housing I picked up
from surplus as well.

Anyway, I have a few more of these small CDs to play with. Is anyone
interested in setting up a Juneau-lug rescue CD? There are quite a few
images out there for the 50MB business card or 200MB mini-CDs, but we
could make our own without too much trouble.

Any other ideas for these things?
