Can you tell us exactly how you are trying to use the floppy?  (Mounting
from a terminal, an icon in Gnome or KDE, etc.)

If you type

mount /dev/fd0 /mnt

and get an error, try this:

cd /dev
./MAKEDEV -v

and then try to mount the floppy drive again.  The MAKEDEV script should
make the fd0 and fd1 devices (the 1st and 2nd floppies).  If you still
have problems, let us know & we'll try to troubleshoot.
