I think that this says it all. If the meetings are interesting and vibrant,
the LUG will grow by word of mouth, no recruiting necessary. Even though the
last couple of meetings didn't go as planned, they were kind of fun because
we got to twiddle with various systems, share ideas and associate with other
Linux users.

My interests revolve more around the applications that I can get for Linux
than the networking side of things. I have had to learn a little about
networking just to get my home network going, but that's about all I need to
know.

I guess meetings could be defined as being for newbies or for advanced users.
Newbie meetings would be for demoing apps, answering questions or doing an
install a someones system. Advanced meetings would show how to compile a
kernel, setup a webserver, networking, etc. While I'm not a newbie, I think
that I would fit in better at a newbie meeting because of the meeting
content.

Not sure I'm going with this. Just my thoughts. Anyone else?

Chuck
