I'm sure most of you don't know who I am, but I am sure some of you know
the organization I work for, Byte Networking.

We are starting to venture into some new markets here in Juneau such as
Wireless Internet and Server Colocation, as well as VPS hosting. I would
like to offer the lug something in hopes that it will become something
larger down the road.

I would like to offer one of the following if you would like.

Free server Colocation with 2 Static IP's - More if needed.
Our setup is currently on a 5mbit up/down Dedicated circuit through ACS.
We plan on upping it to 10mbit by the end of next year. We have a
Generator that kicks in when the Power goes out, so you never have to
worry about being down.

Or you can choose from a VMware VPS or Virtuozzo VPS server. Any OS, but
I assume Linux, at which we can offer any Flavor.

If you don't have a server to put in, I can supply one at no charge. It
would be a p4 2.4ghz with 1gig of ram and 2 80gb hd's in raid 1 in a 2u
case. Not the best server, but we have tons of these. You can have
whatever OS you would like on it.

I would like to become more active in the group as in start coming to
meetings and such, I just haven't had the time. I am very involved in
the Open Source Community (Mostly Virtualization) I was supposed to do a
speech on it at linux fest Northwest 2 years ago, but ended up not being
able to due to time restrictions with work.

Let me know if you think the LUG can use something like this?

Regards,
Chris Ruschmann
