For our Monday evening meeting I can also bring some hackable holidays
lights, if there is interest. These are a string of 50 outdoor lights
where each individual bulb has a 3 LED's - red, blue, & green which
allow it to change to a rainbow of colors. The data signal has been
reverse-engineered and with a micro controller such as an Arduino, these
lights can be programmed to do your bidding. Pretty neat. The Arduino
programming interface is native to linux but has been ported to other
platforms. The language is basically C.
