A bit more on the topic of installfest: I'll be out of town from 16 October through 3 November. We'll be in Taiwan, visiting family. If you get a chance to hold the party, don't delay it on my account, of course! It begins to look as if this is going to take some coordination, and that there will be a bit of lead time in setting it up. Getting a student LUG going on campus will take time, but would be worth the effort. Not only would it give us access to University facilities, but it would also give us access to some youthful, energetic folks with fewer family comitments. Probably the student body has the highest concentration in town of people with time and interest in experimenting with new stuff, so we need to be recruiting there if we want to attract newbies. I think that we don't need full-time students, right? Your wife and her sister, maybe one or two of us are taking a course out there, and then we'd only need two or three ``real'' students to make six. It sounds do-able. I think it might make sense to try to get a group set up on campus this semester, and plan for an installfest as its first big event early next semester. In the mean time, of course, if someone can find a free room and several of us have free time, we can just go for it. A week's notice would let us call the radio stations and maybe even place a classified ad in the in the freebies column of the newspaper.
