[juneau-lug] IBM 6015 & Linux

There was an IBM 6015 box at State Surplus before the big auction - Toby
gave me one, and I bought another for $45. I went back for the last one,
but they had raised the price to $65 for some reason.

If anyone on the list bought it and is wondering what to do with it, I've
recently gotten Debian Woody running and stable on mine. I'm building a
kernel and hopefully will have unofficial Debian boot floppies soon. The
custom kernel I'm building is 2.4.18 with iptables/NAT compiled in. (The
only real use for a PowerPC 601 @ 66MHz I could think of was a firewall.)

There are a few people working on these boxes, mainly in Germany/Poland,
and everything seems to have come together recently. If someone has the
other box, I can build a kernel for you. If you do have it and didn't
realize what it was, please don't disassemble it! I'll trade you
something else for it (for example, the video card is one of only three
models that will actually work with this machine).

Cheers,

James
