Alfie, I did get the problem fixed. I had to put a % in front of sudo in the line sudo=(ALL) ALL, and changed the line for the admin group to be for the adm group. I wonder why there was a line for admin, when Kubuntu as set up on this machine didn't have an admin group at all? I would still appreciate it if you could email me a copy of the pristine Kubuntu sudoers file. I'd like to see how it's different from what I ended up with. It seems attachments get stripped off, so maybe you could send it to nels dot tomlinson at gmail dot com. Thanks!
