[juneau-lug] Grokking the Gimp

I am working my way through Grokking the Gimp to try and get comfortable with
"The Gimp", but I have run into a problem understanding the process of
copying an image layer and pasting it into a channel mask. Seems like a
straight forward process, but I can't get it to work right. If any of you are
graphicaly inclined and know the Gimp, the example I am trying to work
through is in section 4.5 and I sure would like to here from you.
