That's what I'm thinking.  If it is something like a NIC that is being
configured by DCHP, and there is no DCHP server on the network it will
continue to try for a while with progressively longer timeouts.
Eventually it will give up (usually 5 minutes or so).

Can you tell us what is on the left side of the screen?  Each of the
green OKs on the right side should have a task listed on the left.  If
we can figure out what the last successfully completed one is, we can
perhaps figure out what is failing.  This will be important if it is
something like the IRQ conflict that Clay mentioned.

I tried with a Mandrake 8.2 box here at work, and all I got was one OK
line for configuring the NIC.  So the displayed lines must be hardware
dependent.
