Hello,

I was hoping I could get some help from the linux gurus of Alaska. I was
directed to this site by one of my instructors at Charter College.

The issue is that I need an OS for the simple, free, easy to setup, NAS
server. The nas server is a Compaq proliant DL380 running a raid array
(ultra3 scsi). There will be one share for storing Ghost images. The server
is on a closed private network so there is no need for permissions,
everything will be full control under one user be that admin or root.

I've been trying to use several distros and I can't seem to get anywhere.
I've tried ubuntu, debian, turbo, DSL, and a few others. I know it's not the
distros it's my Microsoft upbringing. Installing Samba to me is like driving
blindfolded. If I could get some guidance on which is an easy distro that
sports Samba already installed and is easy to configure I would be very
appreciative.

Thanks,

Jon Merchant
