All right - Feb 13 it is.  6pm - 9pm Mendenhall Community Library

OK we can do the rest of the year by voting on the list.

Any fixed date for a meeting will require a 'default' location, which
usually means Mendenhall library.  The Mendenhall library is
convenient for most people, it is on the ground floor so equipment is
not a problem, and there is lots of parking.  There is now bandwidth
there.  However some people (Jacob, Toby come to mind) have to do a
little bit of driving to get there so the Valley is inconvenient for
them.  THe library is available if we plan far enough ahead - at least
3 or 4 weeks.  If we use an alternate location (Alfie's place, or a
place some other member finds), we can always cancel out of the
library, but it would be polite to cancel at least 2 weeks out.  We
need to have somebody in charge of this.  I am not a good choice as
I've been getting pretty busy lately. 

Names to consider:  Chuck has been a regular for quite some time, and
makes most meetings.  So does Toby, and Toby has expressed interest in
the past in helping run the LUG.  Jeremy is interested in the subject
as well.  Anyone else interested?

Here's the problems that I've heard with various dates:

Weekends - these tend to be towards the middle of the day, because the
library closes earlier.  People complain that that ends up taking up
the whole day so they don't come.

Any weeknight - Between class, work, mandatory meetings for work, etc.
any weeknight we pick will cut people out.  Of course class schedules
change every semester, so people will come and go.  To get around
this, the idea has been floated before to have two meetings a month on
different nights.

All that being said, it seems as if the majority opinion is to set a
fixed date to meet every month.  All we need to do is decide which
date that will be.

If you would like to vote on the list, just send a message with the
subject line "Meeting Date Vote" and I'll keep a tally.  Vote for days
such as "2nd Tuesday", etc. specifying both the week and the day.  If
you want to have two meetings a month, say so, but prioritize your
choices so that if that idea doesn't fly I can figure out which day
you prefer for a one meeting a month schedule.  Keep in mind that the
Macintosh Users Group usually meets the last Wednesday, also in the
Mendenhall Library, so that's not a good night.  If only two or three
people vote, then it will have to wait for the meeting to hash out.
