I am testing it out on a few computers in our office. There are still alo= t of bugs with this release. I think the fedora guys should have waited a little lo= nger to release this one? Above all the bugs and crap. The release is very nice and features alot o= f the same things that drove me to start using Ubuntu for my Primary OS. H= owever, I still cannot get AIGLX to work even with the newest beta driver= s from nvidia :( ----- Original Message ----- From: juneau-lug-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of Chuck Hakari=20 Sent: Thu, 10/26/2006 9:59pm To: Juneau LUG=20 Subject: [juneau-lug] FC6 upgrade report Decided to try the upgrade of my T41 laptop to FC6. Everything appears=20 to be working. Did have to disable a couple of repos and update yumex=20 with yum from the commandline. Looks like there are quite a few updates=20 available from Extras, so tomorrow I'll take care of them. BTW, the new=20 version of yumex works a lot faster, as does=A0=A0yum itself. Haven't done much with it yet, but I does seem much faster. I'm using=20 KDE and the apps open much quicker than under FC5. Java is working.=20 Celestia, which is an opengl app, is really smooth and fast on the xorg=20 driver. I've opened Blender, also opengl, but I haven't done anything=20 with it yet to check the performance, but if it is like Celestia, it=20 should be awesome. Guess that's it for now. I need to backup my desktop system before=20 trying the upgrade on it. Will let you know how that one goes.
