Subject: [juneau-lug] Equipment for swapping

I picked up an Intel NetPort II print server at state surplus yesterday. It
has two parallel & one serial ports, and has AUI and BNC ethernet
connections.

I brought it home & set it up, only to discover that it wants to live on a
Netware (3.x or 4.x) network. I briefly set up mars_nwe and verified that
yes, this thing does appear to be in good working order. However, I do not
want to go to the effort of emulating a Netware server on my lan just to get
two networked printers. This is up for trade.

I have a working Compaq Pagemarq 15 printer. The fuser assembly has some
scratches, so the print output is not perfect. However if you don't have a
laser printer, this will work for you. This does have a network card in it,
but once again it wants to live on a NetWare network. It is a 600dpi
Postscript printer so any Linux/BSD computer can print straight to it using
the parallel cable. Trade, or free to a good home. I have a non-functional
Pagemarq 20 printer that you can use for spares. (Actually, they both work,
but you have to move parts from one to the other - you can't use both at the
same time.)

I have a small 4 port 10Mb/s hub.

I have several AT motherboards that I will bring in, and some Pentium
Classic CPUs. (anywhere from 100-133MHz.) I also have the motherboard for
an IBM PC-330. Not the latest model, this one supports dual Pentium 133's.
No case for this. Might be able to scrounge up an ATX motherboard that I'm
not using - I have some moving around to do at home & I'll see what's left
over.

I have two Mac 68k boxes if anyone is interested: A Centris 610 that has
been transmogrified into a Quadra 610. Good enough for putting OpenBSD on.
Also a Quadra 650. Both of these use a Motorola 68040 processor, and both
are in working order. I can put Mac OS 7.5.5 on them (it is free from Apple
now), and partition them to be ready for Debian Linux or OpenBSD. Both have
working NICs. These aren't exactly powerhouse machines, but they are more
than capable of serving as a small web server, or with the addition of a
second NIC more than adequate firewalls. Aside from the pure geek value of
running *nix on them.

What I am looking for:

IBM PowerPC workstations. There is at least one PowerSeries 400 (IBM 6015)
that was picked up at State Surplus this summer before I could get to it.
Name your price. (Or, if you work at Fish & Game where these came from,
please surplus a few more.)

Older SCSI disks. Either 50 pin or 68 pin Ultra Wide (the single ended
kind, not the new 68 pin Ultra160 & Ultra320 disks - I can't afford the
controllers for those disks).

Cheers,

James
