[juneau-lug] Apache presentation

Given that Apache 2.0.35 was just released for general use, I'll demo the
new version as well. I have it running on my own server
(http://zuelow.net), but not without difficulties.

Some of the problems I've encountered -

The httpd.conf file is not syntactically compatible with 1.3.x httpd.conf
files. This doesn't really surprise me given that this is a major number
update, but it is something to consider when upgrading.

apachectl does not get installed correctly. You have to manually modify
it for Linux installs. For OpenBSD it doesn't seem to work at all (even
with the script paths corrected an `apachectl stop` will not stop the
server, although it reports back as if it does).

The 2.0.35 server does not gracefully handle directory lists. I had a
directory with family photos with .JPG extensions. The 1.3.19/20/24
servers all displayed a directory listing with these files correctly
identified as jpeg images. The 2.0.35 displays them as unknown files.
Since Apache serves files as text/plain by default, this meant that the
files could not be downloaded. Changing the default file format to
application/octet-stream allowed the files to be downloaded, but browsers
would still not display them correctly. I had to rename all of the files
as .jpg files. This is confusing for me, as the Apache documentation
specifically says that file extensions are NOT case sensitive. It may be
an OS issue (OpenBSD again).

I haven't done a lot of experimentation with the 2.0.35 server or configs
yet, so hopefully these issues will be resolved before the 21st and I can
demo a smooth transition for you.

Cheers,

James
